Competition Points and Rankings

Competition Points:               Win     = 3 points

                                                Draw   = 1 point

                                                Loss     = 0 points

For a Win by default, a game score of 5 goals (touchdowns) to 0 is recorded, with “win” competition points awarded.

“Win” competition points are awarded for a “bye”.  (Game score 0 – 0)

If a team is transferred from one grade to another, competition points and goals scored for and against in all games played prior to the transfer (excluding grading games) are carried forward to the new competition.

Rankings:      

In order to determine the semi- finalists, the following criteria, in order, will be applied:

1.      Competition points

2.      If competition points for teams are equal, then the winner of the game(s) between the equal teams is ranked higher

3.      If the games between the teams have resulted in equal wins and/or draws, then the team with the bigger difference between goals for and goals against in games between the equal teams is ranked higher

4.      If the equal teams have not played each other, or the difference in 3 above is equal, then the team with the higher goal difference over all games played by the equal  teams is ranked higher

5.      If the goal difference in 4 above is the same, then the equal teams will be ranked by the toss of a coin
