Sport Capability

Who we are:

A key focus of Sport Capability is to provide specific professional development opportunities for key staff of RSO’s, clubs and schools. The better we can support the people the better the organisation. A final role is to link sports in their community to opportunities which will improve the delivery of sport through school-club links, Regional Sport Organisations, KiwiSport, Local Board and Auckland Council.

The areas we work with are with the RSO's and their CEO and Sport Development staff, their administrators, programme managers and officials.  We also work with clubs and their volunteers, coaches and their officials. Lastly, we work with schools and their principals, sports directors, sports coordinators, coaches and volunteers.

Objectives;

The aim of Sport Capability is to engage with sport organisations to improve their capacity and capability to deliver quality programmes. Key tasks include: advocating for sports in the community, advising of 'best practice', and providing a knowledge hub for all sports organisations and their people. Specifically provide support in

  • Sports Governance
