Mountain Biking has long been a strength at Westlake Boys' High School and this is no less true this year.

The Mountain Biking season centres around several Auckland-based events in Riverhead and Woodhill Forests. The boys compete in the Auckland Individual Championships in early May, before a Winter Series of four races throughout July and August.

The top boys compete each April at the National Championships held in Levin , this consisting of a Cross Country, Hill Climb and Downhill with the best combined points taking the overall crown.

As well as this, in the past few years Westlake has had numerous New Zealand Representatives in Mountain Biking including Locky MacArthur, Zach Baker, Sam Baker, Thomas Reynolds and Mike Davis.
