Tennis at Westlake Boys’ High School continues to be a popular choice as a summer sport. This was evidenced by well over one hundred boys taking the opportunity to enthusiastically participate over Terms One and Four. In 2012 there are 16 teams representing the school in the ASSATA league, National Senior school tournament, Champion of Champions tournament and an internal school development programme. On Mondays we now have 8 teams involved in an internal school league. Players are selected on merit to represent the school with trials for team selection held at the start of Term One. Commitment to ASSATA league matches and other school-sanctioned events takes precedence over all club matches during Terms One and Four. School staff members manage teams and facilitate training sessions.
Five on-campus Astroturf courts are utilised for the majority of ASSATA matches with Becroft Tennis Centre courts being used for some specific events.
Professional coaching for groups and individuals is available on site and arrangements for this should be made through Mr Kennard. Team training sessions are held by respective team managers.
